You want to start with an information board from MijnEigenPlan, but which size is best for your situation?
Because the information board can work with tabs, it can be a lot smaller than the whiteboard you might be using now. And you can still fit all the information, and more!
We consider the following factors when choosing the ideal size:
- Residential group or day care/workshop?
- What kind of space will the information board be placed in?
- How many clients use it?
- Are there clients with visual impairments?
- Are there clients who are wheelchair-bound?
Factor 1: Residential group or day care/workshop?
In residential groups, the 32-inch is most commonly used, although we regularly hear that a slightly larger size (43-inch) is preferred. This depends on the size of the room; you can read more about this under factor 2.
For day care, the 43-inch variant is the most popular, but here too, other factors (such as a large group of clients or visual impairment) can play a role in choosing the 49-inch.
Factor 2: What kind of space will the information board be placed in?
The most important information on the information board is on the first tab and is therefore always visible. In a larger space, people will also want to see the information on the screen from a few meters away.
If the screen is to be hung in a narrow hallway, a smaller size is more pleasant to work with.
Additionally, a large screen in a living room can be too prominent, in which case it’s better to choose a slightly smaller size.
Factor 3: How many clients use it?
At some locations, the information board is used by many dozens of clients. There are many tasks, and the schedules become a bit more complex. In such cases, it’s important to have more screen real estate.
Factor 4: Are there clients with visual impairments?
For clients with visual impairments, we can display the content of the information board larger. Of course, less will fit on it, which is why a larger screen is recommended.
Factor 5: Are there clients who are wheelchair-bound?
When clients in a wheelchair want to use the information board, it is important that at least the bottom half is easily accessible. MijnEigenPlan has an option where the top part of the board can be dragged down, making it accessible. This can be a reason to choose a slightly smaller screen, which is hung a bit lower.
It is also possible to provide an electric lift; because it is quite large, this is only possible for 49-inch screens.
The sizes
Below you will find the available sizes:
Do you want to see how big the screen will be on your wall? Hang A4 and A5 paper for an indication. (A5 size is a folded A4 sheet.)
